WEATHER INFORMATION FOR 9/23-9/25

This is the latest update from the National Weather Service for our area; please check local forecasts for more specific updates:

● Multiple rounds of tidal flooding are expected this week for portions of the Atlantic coast, Delaware
Bay, southern Raritan Bay, the tidal Delaware River, and Chesapeake Bay. Moderate coastal flooding
expected beginning with today’s PM high tide cycle. The most significant impacts may occur for
back bay areas including Barnegat Bay and Shrewsbury River in NJ and the Indian River Bay in DE.

● Windy conditions are expected on area waters and coastal areas. Gale conditions are forecast
through Thursday night for the coastal waters, and may continue through Friday or Saturday. For the
Atlantic coasts of NJ and DE, a Wind Advisory is in effect through 8 PM Thursday for northeast
winds 25-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph possible.

● There is a High Risk of rip currents through Saturday as well as dangerous surf. A High Surf
Advisory remains effect through Saturday. Significant beach erosion is likely. Breaching of sand dunes
is possible.
● Expect some periods of rain this week near the coast along with the windy conditions. Confidence is
low in how long impacts will continue as there is significant uncertainty with the track of the coastal
low. Impacts and hazards for this weekend should come into focus over the next 24 to 48 hours.
